Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Janice Hunt; grandson, Alan Hunt (Phyllis); great-granddaughter, Ashley Simpson (Ryan); great-grandson, Kent Hunt; and great-great-grandson, Jack Simpson all of Piedmont; and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were nephews.
Mrs. Hunt was a Cherokee County native and had been a Piedmont resident most of her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Piedmont and the Fidelis Sunday School Class. She was employed at Standard Coosa Thatcher Company for 37 years and was an avid gardener.
Mrs. Hunt was preceded in death by her husband, Odis Hunt; a son, Kenneth Hunt; her parents, Lake and Emily Acker, Sr.; brothers, Foster Acker, Fred Acker, Frank Acker, Bill Acker, Ted Acker and Lake Acker, Jr.; and sisters, Hycie Johnson Tompkins and Gilley Studdard.
