The Sunshine Club at FBS Piedmont met July 6th in the fellowship hall. Forty members and guest Randy Morrow, Scott Maddox and Hal Childs were in attendance.

July is a celebration of our nation’s birth and the freedom we share as Americans. Jim and Martha Garner and Anita Sparks used a patriotic theme, especially our pride and joy, the one and only “Old Glory” decorating the hall.

Happy birthday was wished to Sue Dempsey, Doris Woolf, Gordon Kirby, Mable Warren, Doyce White, Theresa Benefield, Ramon Feazell, Patsy Frachiseur, Joy Borden, Gene Williams and Margaret Jones.

Ramon reminded those going to Rainsville July 16 for the stage show Steel Magnolias, to be sure to be at the church. Vans will leave at 2:30. We will eat at Western Sizzlin in Fort Payne.

Tentative date for our trip to Chilton County for peaches is set for July 27. This could be changed but those signing up will be notified.

Guest speaker was Harold Childs. The worship leader and Chaplin of the Salvation Army, Mr Childs explained the workings of the Salvation Army and how different programs are used and distributed. There were many questions from the group.

Bro Phillip Cooper gave the devotion using Hebrews 11th chapter. He closed with prayer asking blessings on the upcoming meal.
