Alvin Ricky “Hippy” Lane, 58, of Piedmont died Monday, July 12, 2010, at RMC in Anniston. Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory was in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include two sons, Joey Lane (Sherry) and Robby Lane (Tonya) all of Piedmont; one grandchild, Nikki Lane of Piedmont; four sisters, Sue McDaniel of Panama City, Florida, Jane Stanton (Jimmy Arwood) of Johnson City, Tennessee, Gail Smith (Terry) and Reatha Brown all of Piedmont; three brothers, Calvin Lane (Lois) of Fort Pierce, Florida, Elbert P. Lane of Piedmont and David Lane of California; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Lane was a native and lifelong resident of the Piedmont area. He worked his entire life as a brick and rock mason and was an avid outdoorsman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Donnie Lane; and two sisters, Joyce Wilson and Carlyon Mitchell.
