Funeral services for Dueal Lamar Rogers, 77, of Piedmont were Saturday, July 3, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. William Cain officiating. Burial followed at Piedmont Memory Gardens with military honors. Mr. Rogers died Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at his home.

Survivors include three daughters, Debbie Bishop (Jackie) of Saint Albans, West Virginia, Gail Cobb (Frank) of Piedmont and Brenda Formby of Meridianville; two sons, Jimmy Rogers (Diana) of Cedartown, Georgia and Jeff Rogers of Saint Marys, Georgia; 11 grandchildren,Tasha Cobb Adkison, Mandy Cobb Floyd, Ryan Cobb, Carisa Formby Sparks, Mark Formby, Matt Rogers, Betsy Ayers, Clay Bishop, Bridgette Hale, Matthew Scott and Skyler Scott; 12 great-grandchildren, Lauren and Kaitlyn Cobb, Ethan and Ella Grace Floyd, Cassidy Savaget, Chase Bishop, Taylor Miles, Maddie and Bryar Ayers, McKinzie, McKayla and Morgan Hinson; and one sister, Ruby Martin Kimberly of Piedmont.

Pallbearers were Matt Rogers, Ryan Cobb, Mark Formby, Bobby Glover, Bobby Murphy, Bunk Maddox and Jerry Thacker.

Mr. Rogers lived in Piedmont all of his life. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Loring Air Force Base in Limestone, Maine where he met his wife of 50 years, Joyce Quimby. He retired from Standard Coosa Thatcher in 1995 and worked part-time for the U.S. Postal Service in Piedmont following his retirement. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Quimby Rogers of Piedmont; his parents, Bert and Mary Elizabeth Rogers of Piedmont; brothers, Howard Rogers of Piedmont, J.B. Rogers of Centre, William T. (Cowboy) Rogers of Spring Garden and one sister, Agnes Rogers of Piedmont.
