Mattie Bell Williams, age 95, of Spring Garden passed away Saturday, May 22, 2010, at Piedmont Health Care and Rehab Center. Mattie was born June 30, 1914, in Jacksonville to L.D. and Nancy McFall Rhinehart. She was the oldest daughter, and one of thirteen siblings. She married Roy Edward (Edd) Williams, the love of her life, on November 13, 1932. She was a member of Rock Run Baptist Church where she served faithfully for over 80 years. She taught Sunday School, served as WMU director and as Church Secretary/Treasurer.

Mattie is survived by two sons, Carlton Williams (Jo Anne) of Ocala, FL and Gene Williams (Reba) of Spring Garden;  daughter-in-law, Linda C. Williams of Spring Garden; grandchildren, Katerina Williams of St. Augustine, FL, Lee Williams (Amy) of Cedartown, GA, Rodney Williams (Michele) of Enterprise, Carl Williams (Kris) of Ocala, FL, Shannon Ivey (Bruce), Mandy Pope (Phillip) and Jennifer Williams all of Piedmont; 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Winfred Rhinehart (Gertrude), Clyde Rhinehart (Polly) all of Piedmont, Ruth Rutherford of Oxford, Edna Tierce (Marshall) of Cedartown, GA, Fred Rhinehart (Ada) of Piedmont,, Juanita Wallace (Alvin) of Oxford and Sammy Rhinehart of Cedartown, GA ; and several niece and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Roy Edd Williams; sons, Wallace and Bobby Williams; a grandchild, Wallace Jason Williams and siblings G.W. Rhinehart, John Rhinehart, Estelle Hinton, Albert Rhinehart and Reece Rhinehart.

Services were held Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. J.D. Whorton and Rev. Bobby Kirk officiating. Pallbearers were Lee Williams, Rodney Williams, Bruce Ivey, Phillip Pope, Justin Williams and Will Ivey. Interment was at Union Grove Cemetery in Rock Run. Memorial contributions may be made to Rock Run Baptist Church or the Piedmont Rescue Squad. The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Ulrich and the staff of Piedmont Health Care Rehab
