Mary Joyce Tierce, of the Spring Garden Community, 74, went to be with the Lord on May 8, 2010, at her residence.

Mrs. Tierce was born on April 14, 1936, the daughter of the late William Ordell & Mary Lou Christopher White. She is the fifth child of thirteen children. Mrs. Tierce was preceded in death by a daughter; Brenda Darlene Tierce (June 15, 1975), sister; Aileen White, two brothers; Bill White and Tom White.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Rev. Orville Russell Tierce, five children; three sons, Stevie Russell Tierce (Patty), David Wayne Tierce, Christopher Dell Tierce (Carol); two daughters; Mickie Lachelle Tierce Kerr (Tony); thirteen grandchildren, (Steve’s children) Julie Tierce Bobbitt (Kevin), Kelley Tierce Ballew (Kenny), Russ Tierce; (David’s children), Cassandra Tierce Lindsey (Rich), Sarah Tierce, Sam Tierce; (Chris’s children), Amanda Tierce, Kristin Tierce; (Mickie’s children), Bailee Kerr, Evan Kerr; three great-grandchildren, (Julie’s child) Myleigh Bobbitt; (Kelley’s children), Tyler Ballew, Rachel Ballew. Also surviving are four brothers; Jim White (Susan), Paul White (Linda), Chris White (Diane), Jerry White (Virginia), five sisters; Nevell McGinnis, Jeannine Roberts, Mazie Gray (Ervin), Carolyn Rester (Marvin), Connie Burke (Bill); many nieces, nephews, other family and numerous friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Tierce were conducted on Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at 11 a.m. from Folsom’s Heritage Chapel with Rev. Wendell Dutton officiating. Burial followed at Piedmont Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers were Kenny Ballew, Kevin Bobbitt, Rich Lindsey, Ted Acker, Gerald Kerr, Gary Gowens. Honorary Pallbearers, Russ Tierce, Dennis Tierce, Charles Tierce, Hal Matthews, Russell Reece, Gene Bearden.
