U.S. Representative Mike Rogers delivered the commencement address. Prior to taking the podium, Representative Rogers received an honorary doctorate from University President Dr. William A. Meehan. Congressman Rogers, a Saks native, earned both his bachelor’s degree in political science (‘81) and his master’s degree in Public Administration (‘84) from JSU. He went on to receive his law degree from the Birmingham School of Law while serving on the Calhoun County Commission. Later, he started his own law firm in Anniston.
