Funeral services for Betty Joyce Weaver, 77, of Piedmont, were Sunday, April 25, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory with Dr. Tony Weaver and Rev. Joel Smith officiating. Burial followed at Highland Cemetery. Mrs. Weaver died Friday, April 23, 2010 at her home.

Survivors include six children, Dr. Tony Weaver (Sharon) of Aragon, Ga., Connie Weaver of Piedmont, Debra Kiker (Tommy) of Piedmont, Johnny Weaver (Cynthia) of Jacksonville, Scott Weaver (Rita) of Piedmont and Ilah Weaver of Piedmont; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Blankenship and Maxine Nichols both of Cedartown, GA; a sister-in-law, Grace Blake; several nieces and nephews; and long term health care provider, Brenda Smith. Pallbearers were Johnny Weaver, Scott Weaver, Tommy Kiker, DeWayne Kiker, Nick Kiker, and Chris Baker. Honorary pallbearers were Chase Kiker, Tabitha Kiker, Tamara Knowles,Beverly Weaver, Amy Baker and Michael Baker. Mrs. Weaver was a Polk County, Georgia native and had been a Piedmont resident most of her life. She was a retired textile employee, was a regional coordinator for East Alabama Cerebral Palsy for many years and was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Weaver was preceded in death by her husband, Lamar Weaver; a son, Samuel Weaver; her parents, Robert and Delia Blake; one brother and two sisters. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Wiregrass Hospice.
