Services for Olive Louise Carlson Pollock, 88, of Piedmont, were Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 3 p.m. at the Piedmont Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Douglas Pollock, Rev. Russell Chrisco and Rev. Rodney McInnis officiating. Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Pollock died Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Piedmont Health Care Center.
Survivors include three daughters, Marsha Pollock Barr (Jack) of Jefferson, North Carolina, Charity Ann Buerhaus of Piedmont and Faith Annette Grubb (Ken) of Phenix City; two sons, Douglas Kent Pollock (Donna) of Wilmington, Delaware and Timothy E. Pollock (Vickie) of Charlotte, North Carolina, 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren; one sister, Virginia Heberling Dahlberg of Galesburg, Illinois; and two nieces and two nephews. Pallbearers were Michael Buerhaus, Matthew Buerhaus, Mark Buerhaus, Paul Grubb, Brandon Pollock and Chris Harris.
Mrs. Pollock was an Oklahoma native and was raised in Moline, Illinois where she graduated from high school. She was a graduate of the Baptist Hospital L.P.N. program in Winston Salem, North Carolina. She was a faithful minister’s wife for 54 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Kenneth Eugene Pollock; a daughter, Janice Louise Chrisco; and a brother, Marvin Carlson. Memorial contributions may be made to the Piedmont Ministerial Association.
