Seniors take trip to Gadsden

The Clyde Pike Civic Center Senior Citizens went to see 2009 Christmas Lights on two vans on Dec. 16, 2009. The van drivers were Jeff Formby and Bruce Wallace.

The group went to Gadsden and ate at Burger King. The group went to Noccalula Falls and rode the train to see all the beautiful lights. They went to the campground on the Coosa River near the I-759 bridge. The lights were great there, too.

The seniors who went to view the lights were Mary Harbour, Harry Arnold, Nellie Jo Prater, Kathleen Amberson, Carol Fairs, Brenda Lawler, Christine Cantrell, Flossie Parris, Louise Simpson, Latatise Starr, Cheryl Williams and Martha Ann Burns.

The lights everywhere were al beautiful this year. It was a great trip.

In November, the seniors took a shopping trip to Douglasville, Ga. The seniors departed on two vans at 8:30 a.m. and the drivers were Jeff Formby and Jerry Spivey.

The seniors had fun Christmas shopping for clothes, shoes, flowers, jewelry and much more.

They ate at the Food Court and shopped at the Old Time Pottery Store, too.

The seniors making the trip were Aggie Harbour. Carol Fairs, Annie Adair, Christine Cantrell, Geraldine Stitts, Mary Huey, Brenda Lawler, Ed Spoon, Helen Spoon, Kathleen Amberson, Martha Burns, Donna Price, Ted McDowell, Margaret Williams, Cheryl Williams, Peanut Cantor, Horace Hames and Mildred Hames.

It was a wonderful shopping day.
