ANDERSONService for Amy Louise Livingston Anderson, 89, was at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, at Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory with the Rev. Garry Brown officiating. Burial was at Highland Cemetery. Mrs. Anderson died Thursday, December 10, 2009, at her home.
Survivors include four daughters, Janice Rosser (Doug), Sherry Whiteside (Gerald), Diana Anderson, and Donna Todd (Stanley), all of Piedmont; 10 grandchildren, Doug Rosser Jr. (Lisa), Greg Rosser (Sheri), Kim Compton (Neil), Cindy Holbrooks (Bryan), Brian Whiteside (Kristy), Chris Whiteside (Kristina), Steve Bates (Cecilia), Wendy Paslay (David), Lori Battles, and Wesley Todd (Brandi); 16 great-grandchildren, Ashley Rosser, Dustin Rosser, Malorie Rosser, Darbie Rosser, Calley Compton, Caden Compton, Cole Holbrooks, Reed Holbrooks, Judson Whiteside, Noah Whiteside, Ethan Bates, Collin Bates, Raven Paslay, Carrigan Paslay, Emma Grace Todd, and Mattie Todd. Pallbearers will be Doug Rosser Jr., Greg Rosser, Brian Whiteside, Chris Whiteside, Steve Bates, Wesley Todd, and Bill Hart.
Mrs. Anderson was a resident of Piedmont most of her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Piedmont for 72 years where she worked in the nursery for many years. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and sewing. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, William "Stokes" Anderson, and grandsons, Matthew Todd and Ryan Davis. CAMBRONFuneral services for James Raymond "Ray" Cambron, 51, of Piedmont were Sunday at 4 p.m. with Mr. Rodney McFall and Rev. Rodney Ragsdale officiating. Mr. Cambron died Thursday, December 10, 2009 at his home.
He is survived by his wife of three years, Helen Cambron; two sons, Kevin Hogue (Shannon) and Craig Cambron (Misty) all of Piedmont; two step-daughters, Loretta Lynn Poole (Joseph) of Georgia and Helen Marie Hayes of Kentucky; three grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; four brothers, Billy Cambron (Kimberly) of Gadsden, Danny Cambron and Rudy Cambron both of Texas and David Cambron of Leesburg; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were friends and co-workers.
Mr. Cambron was a native and lifelong resident of Piedmont. He was employed at G E O Specialty Chemical in Cedartown, GA. Ray was an easy going person that loved life and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Barbara Cambron. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The family would like to give special thanks to Jill Hobbs and Alacare Hospice.
PRATERFuneral services for Christine G. Prater, 71, of Piedmont, was held on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, at Memory Chapel of Folsom Funeral Home. Burial followed in Piedmont Memory Garden. Mrs. Prater died Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009, at Jacksonville Medical Center.
Survivors include her husband, Willis R. "Jack" Prater; two sisters, Osie Coley and Jannie Brown; a brother, Grimmitt Glenn; special niece, Donna Wilson.
Mrs. Prater was born on March 20, 1938, the daughter of the late Foster G. and Lola Cooper Glenn. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Joe and Johnny Glenn, and by two sisters, Martha Glenn and Margaret Glenn. She was a housewife and homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. SIDESMemorial service for Connie Renee' Sides, 29, of Piedmont will be Wednesday, Dec.16, 2009 at 6 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Morris Minton officiating. Mrs. Sides died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, at her home.
She is survived by one son, James Michael Sides of Spring Garden; her mother and step-father, Sherri and Mike Williamson of Piedmont; her father and step-mother, Jim and Desiree Johnson of Texarkana, Arkansas; two brothers, David Michael Williamson and his wife Melinda of Centre and Nathan Edward Johnson and his wife Pam of Piedmont; grandparents, Pat and Ralph Curts of Indio, California and Earl Williamson of Piedmont; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Sides was a resident of Piedmont most of her life and was a graduate of Piedmont High School. She was a homemaker, loved music and was an organ transplant patient and strong advocate of organ donation. She was preceded in death by two sons, Hunter Sides and Issac Sides and grandparents, Connie Bailey, George Roach and Lucille Williamson.
