Lara Elizabeth Lindsey and James Cody Westbrook were married Oct. 10, 2009, in Panama City Beach, Fla.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robbie Lindsey of Birmingham, formerly of Rome. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rhodes Taylor of York and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lindsey of Jacksonville, Fla.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Westbrook Jr. of Piedmont. He is the grandson of Bobbie Floyd, James Westbrook Sr., both of Piedmont, the late Gene Floyd and the late Johnnie Gail Westbrook.

The Rev. Lewis Jennings of Piedmont, uncle of the groom, performed the double-ring ceremony before a white arch decorated with swags of pink and orange roses, pink lilies and gerbera daisies, asparagus fern and ivy. Flowers were placed in honor of the bride's grandparents, Rhodes Taylor and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lindsey, who were unable to attend the ceremony and in memory of the groom's grandparents, Johnnie Gail Westbrook and Gene Floyd.

Brittany Laine Lindsey of Rome, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. Bonnie Gentry Maulding of Dallas was the bridesmaid.

Maggie Taylor of Cuba, cousin of the bride, was the flower girl.

Cory Ray Westbrook of Piedmont, brother of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen were Christopher Shane Elliott of Steele and Ryan Elliott Jennings of Piedmont, cousins of the groom.

Aiden Rhodes Heine of Rome, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer.

The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, wore a strapless ivory gown featuring a bodice made of satin with ivory and silver embroidery and beading. The full skirt flowed into a chapel-length train made of satin with a chiffon overlay embellished with embroidery and beading. She wore a family heirloom veil of ivory tulle edged with Chantilly lace that was also worn by her mother on her wedding day. She attached an antique handkerchief that belonged to her maternal great-grandmother, the late Bertha McDonald, to the under-layer of her dress with her maternal grandfather's monogrammed tie tack. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of pink and fuchsia roses, pink gerbera daisies and pink alstromeria wrapped with ivory satin ribbon.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held. Refreshments included the bride's two-tier white cake with butter cream icing decorated with a polka dot design and topped with a pewter "W" monogram. The cake was displayed on a silver plateau surrounded with pink gerbera daisies and white rose petals. The groom's cake was a mandarin orange confection made by his mother.

The couple resides in Panama City Beach, Fla.
