• There will be a special Christmas singing at the Gospel Singing And Revival Center, 402 Hughes Street, Piedmont on Saturday, Dec. 12 at 6 p.m. Featured singers will be Heaven Seekers, The Oakridge Gospelaires and Set Free. There will be refreshments served after the singing. For more information call 447-9638 or 282-2703

• Applications are now available for the Piedmont Jaycees Christmas Shopping Tour for needy families. Applications may be picked up at the city administration building during their regular business hours. Deadline for applications is Dec. 15th. The Jaycees only consider low income families with children 12 years of age or younger.

• Kindergarten students at Piedmont Elementary School are hosting a donation drive to help the students at Clarkdale Elementary School in Georgia that was flooded because of the heavy rains recently. Our students are asking community members to send or drop off teacher and student school supplies for them to package and kindergarten teachers to deliver to the Clarkdale central office. Our students want to see how many donations they can collect so please help our students make a difference!

• Roberts Chapel Baptist Church on Maxwellborn Road (Old Highway 21) will hold its Christmas program on Sunday, Dec. 20 at 5 p.m.

• The finance committee at the First United Methodist Church of Piedmont has announced the establishment of a Meditation Park Fund Drive aimed to retire the approximately $42,000.00 debt owed on the Tucker Activity Building Pavers can be purchased " in honor of "or "in memory of" individuals in the church, community, or other location. The cost of one paver is $175.00, two or more can be purchased for $150 each. The park will be located between the Tucker Activity Building and the existing Draper and Kerr Buildings. For more information or to purchase a paver, contact the church secretary at 447-7421 from 9:00 a.m. to noon weekdays.

• New Revelation Mass Choir is currently seeking lead singers, frontline singers, choir members, and musicians. Membership includes but is not limited to preparation for concerts, concert dates, CD recordings, and TV appearances throughout the year. • Celebrate Recovery, a Christ-centered 12 step program, meets every Friday night at First Baptist Church in Jacksonville. Dinner is served at 5:30. Large group meetings with worship and praise bands and guest speakers begin at 6:30. Small share/support groups meet after that at 7:30 followed with cake and fellowship. • God's Abundance, a thrift store, is open at 5818 McClellan Blvd., in the Lenlock Shopping Center. The store helps support men and women who have been incarcerated because of drug and alcohol problems. Donations are taken during open hours only. • Volunteers are needed at Eubanks Welcome Center in the afternoons. Two, three and four-hour shifts are available. Come by and apply anytime. Eubanks Welcome Center is an affiliate of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program.

• Project Blue Light Concern of Police Survivors is encouraging law enforcement families, friends, and law enforcement agencies to decorate in blue lights for the coming holiday season. By placing one blue light in a window of your home, you'll be showing your support for officers killed in the line of duty and those who continue to work America's streets. By placing a string of blue lights outside your home, at the department, and throughout the community, law enforcement officers will understand that they are appreciated. Let your blue lights shine for law enforcement during the holidays!
