Twenty-six students were recognized by the Piedmont Housing Authority for academic excellence for making either all A's, all A's & B's, or Perfect Attendance for the first nine week reporting period for Piedmont City Schools.

Keith Word, Executive Director of the Piedmont Housing Authority said that he was so very proud of each of these students for working very hard to make the grade for the first nine weeks. Word said the partnership with the Piedmont McDonald's has been truly exceptional. Word praised the owners of McDonald's — Mr. & Mrs. David Neisler — and both managers — Pam Traywick and Lisa Evans.

"The Piedmont McDonald's staff treat our kids and students like they are their family and you can see the excitement in our kids faces when they walk into McDonalds in Piedmont each and every nine weeks," Word said. "McDonald's has been a truly wonderful asset to our Housing Authority and we hope that we will be able to continue this partnership for many, many years to come.
