BRIGHTMr. Charles William Bright, 73, Piedmont, died Sunday, October 11, 2009, at his residence.
Mrs. Bright was born on January 29, 1936, the son of the late Norris Emmerson and Eunice Studdard Bright. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Bright. Mr. Bright was a member of Pleasant Arbor Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wifr, Jewel Jenkins Bright; two daughters, Debbie Arbabi and Marie Bright; foiur step-children, Kenneth and Steve Harris, Charles Bivens and Michael Jenking; three brothers, Robert Bright of Centre, Willard Bright of Piedmont and Boby Bright of Boaz; one sister, Barbara Garner of Centre; two grandchildren and one great-granchild; a number of nephews and nieces.

BULLOCKMrs. Elsie Mae Bullock, 73, Piedmont, died Monday, October 12, 2009, at Jacksonville medical center.
Mrs. Bullock was born on November 6, 1935, the daughter of the late Homer and Eva Johnson Reynolds. She was preceded in death by her husband, John William Bullock.
Survivors include two daughters, Stacey and Diane Bullock; four sons, John, Billy, David and Shane Bullock; two brothers, Ed and Arlan Reynolds; four sisters, Shirley Hester, Catherine Pruitt, Cora Lee Bullock and Louise Cochran; 13 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

COOGLERFuneral services for Dr. Edward Lee Coogler, 85, of Piedmont were Saturday at 2 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory with Dr. R. L. Caswell and the Rev. Philip Cooper officiating. Burial followed at Piedmont Memory Gardens. Dr. Coogler died Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at his home.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Frances M. Coogler; one daughter, Patricia Ann Vrabel (Joseph) of Panama City, Florida; one daughter-in-law, Anne Ross of McDonough, Georgia; four grandchildren, Timothy A. Coogler of McDonough, Georgia, Clint Garner (Danielle) of Panama City, Florida, Brent Vrabel and Alexi Vrabel both of Daphne; four great grandchildren, Jerry L. Coogler, Ava Marie Garner, Andrew Vrabel and Camilla Coogler; one brother, Otis P. Coogler of Piedmont; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Frankie Coogler, Tim Coogler, Clint Garner, Derek Stewart, Joseph Vrabel and Jerry Coogler. Honorary Pallbearers were members of Lozahatrchee Masonic Lodge #97 F&AM.
Dr. Coogler was a Piedmont native and a U.S. Air Force WWII veteran. He served in the ministry for 50 years during which time he pastored seven churches in Alabama and Georgia. He received his Doctor of Divinity degree in 1978 and retired from full time ministry in 1988. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Piedmont, a member of Lozahatchee Masonic Lodge #97 F&AM and was an avid golfer. He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Coogler and by his parents, Frank and Nettie Coogler. LOCKRIDGEFuneral services for David P. Lockridge, 91, of Piedmont were Friday, October 16, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory with the Rev. Barbara Mosley officiating. Burial followed at Highland Cemetery. Mr. Lockridge died Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Piedmont Health Care Center.
Survivors include a special daughter, Jean Kelley (Roger) of Piedmont; two special granddaughters, Beth Kirkpatrick (Jerrod) and Dawn Renfroe (David) all of Jacksonville; five special great grandchildren; one brother, Charles Lockridge (Margaret) of Piedmont; two sisters, Nobie and Nora Lockridge both of Piedmont; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Don Minton, Kevin Hunt, Earl Ingram, Scott Stephens, Robert Surrett, Joe Gowens, Kenny Ingram, David Renfroe and Jarrod Kirkpatrick. Honorary Pallbearers were Rodney Pope, Herman Gowens, Mack Studdard and the Union Grove United Methodist Church Adult Sunday School Class.
Mr. Lockridge was a native and lifelong resident of the Piedmont area. He retired from SCT Yarn and was a member of Union Grove United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Army WWII veteran, a Pearl Harbor survivor and an avid baseball fan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Curtis Lockridge; an infant son, David Wayne Lockridge; parents, Paul and Lena Lockridge; and one brother, Horace Lockridge.
McGINNISMrs. Mary Louise McGinnis, 91, died Monday, October 12, 2009, at Jacksonville Medical Center. Mrs. McGinnis was born on March 12, 1918 the daughter of the late Robert and Gertrude Morgan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernis McGinnis.
Survivors include a nephew, Robert Holbrook; one sister, Billie Jo Minton. A number of nephews and nieces also survive. She was a member of Dailey Street Baptist Church. Funeral service for Mrs. McGinnis were October 15, 2009 at Folsom Funeral Home with the Rev. Morris Minton officiating. Burial was in the Highland Cemetery.
