On Aug. 19, 2009, at 11 a.m., Keith Word, executive director of the Piedmont Housing Authority conducted a ribbon cutting and open house for the new administration office building which is very nice and a great addition to the Piedmont commercial landscape.

Mr. Word and his staff planned and worked diligently for many days to make the open house a great success.

The program participants, Keith Word, Rev. Deborah Moon, Walter Prater, chairman of the board, Mayor Brian Young and Congressman Mike Rogers, did a great job talking about the Housing Authority successes, also how Piedmont is a nice little city to line in and visit.

While listening to the speakers I started to feel and hear that Keith Word in his many years as the executive director has given exceptional leadership and planning expertise not only to the Piedmont Housing Authority but also to many other activities in Piedmont and Alabama.

I would like to make the point that in my humble opinion Keith Word has been and will continue to be a very positive asset to the Piedmont Housing Authority and the city of Piedmont, Calhoun County and Alabama.

To you and your staff, Mr. Word, keep up the good work. You make me proud to be a part of Piedmont and you would get my vote for citizen/businessman of the year in 1009.

May God continue to bless your every effort to help and serve others.
