In the early '30's, the Chuck Wagon Gang started out in Fort Worth, Texas, as a country and western group. But, gospel did so well they continued to do gospel. Today, they have written 750 songs. "I'll Fly Away" was their most popular and over 1,000 artists have recorded this song.

This famous group was in Calhoun County earlier this month at Holly Springs Baptist Church on Choccolocco Road for one and a half hours of the best music you will hear in the area.

This church is small and holds about 300. It was packed with people.

The Chuck Wagon Singers are out of Tennessee now. The song leader is from Pigeon Forge, Tenn. One is from Indiana and two more are with the group.

This is the second time for this church to host the Church Wagon group. They still sound like they did 70-plus years ago and everyone who attended was entertained.
