Garden jamboree re-set

Spring Garden football fans will have to wait a few extra days for their first glimpse of the 2008 Panthers. Spring Garden’s annual football jamboree, initially scheduled for Thursday of this week, has been re-set for Monday, May 19. The move avoids a conflict with the Spring Garden softball squad’s participation in the AHSAA Class 1A state softball tournament in Montgomery this Thursday and Friday. In addition to Spring Garden, the participants in the varsity jamboree will be Donoho, Gaylesville, Skyline, Victory Christian of Pell City and Woodville. The junior high teams from Spring Garden and Woodville will open play at 4:20 p.m. The junior varsity competition will be two eight-minute quarters with a running clock. Varsity play begins with Spring Garden taking on Woodville at 5 p.m. The remaining pairings, to be played in 40-minute blocks, are Gaylesville and Woodville, Gaylesville and Donoho, Skyline and Donoho, Skyline and Victory Christian and Spring Garden and Victory Christian.
