Funeral services for Margie Farmer, 97, of Piedmont were Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory with the Rev. Hayward Clark officiating. Burial followed at Piedmont Memory Gardens. Mrs. Farmer died Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Piedmont Health Care Center.
Survivors include three daughters, Janis J. Smith (J.T.) and Sharon J. Fair all of Piedmont and Peggy J. Ashford (Don) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; four grandchildren, Stephen Fair of Leeds, Athena Little of Madison, Teresa McCullough of Powder Springs, Georgia and Angela Marsh of Hartselle; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Stephen Fair, Stuart McCullough, Matt McCullough, Danny Tollison, Bill Marsh and Don Ashford.
Mrs. Farmer was a native and lifelong resident of Piedmont and was a member of Leatherwood Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Frank L. Jackson and Virgil Farmer; and a grandson, Robert B. Little.
