Hoyt V. Burns
Funeral services for Hoyt V. Burns, age 82, of Piedmont, were held on Saturday January 23, 2010, at 11 a.m. from the Memory Chapel of the Folsom Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Piedmont Memory Gardens.
A native of Cleburne County, Burns was born on August 14, 1927, the son of the late Loyd V. & Pauline Hammett Burns. He was a retired welder having been employed with the Anniston Army Depot. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Julia Issac Burns. Mr. Burns was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion. He was a communicate of St. Charles and St. Jochim Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife; Mrs. Martha Sue Storey Burns. Three stepsons; David Borders, Raymond “Scott” Harris and Joe Harris. Three sisters; Ruby Stewart, Jewell Albright, and Catherine Darmer. Two brothers; Frank Burns and Fred Burns.
