The 8th Annual Freedom Celebration will be sponsored by the Piedmont Ministerial Association and will be held on Saturday, July 3rd from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. This event will be held at the Clyde H. Pike Civic Center located at 500 Mills Street, Piedmont.

The event will include a Veterans Tribute starting at 9 a.m. featuring Mrs. Debra Jones as the Keynote Speaker along with the invocation, pledge, posting colors, and taps. Immediately following the Veterans Tribute will be an Evangelistic Service featuring some powerful messages and special music.

Immediately following the opening ceremony, exhibitor and youth sales will start featuring a variety of food products for sale and a variety of children’s and youth programs to benefit the kids. Some of the items being discussed are Dunking Booth, Moonwalks, Water Slides, Trackless Train, and other exciting events throughout the day. Since all this is in the planning stages, nothing is confirmed yet with the exception of the times, date, and location.

Any youth or church group, school group, business group, or community or civic organization is invited to set up their booths or tents to sell their products. This event is open to the public and will feature local entertainment from the Piedmont area including several local churches which may include special singing, skits, dance, and a variety of other fun programs for the day. We are also hoping for the local and area car clubs to bring their classic cars, trucks, or tractors for the day.

Any business interested in making a donation to help the Piedmont Ministerial Association offset the cost is invited to join one of the following levels: $ 50 to $ 250 will be BRONZE; $ 251 to $ 500 will be SILVER LEVEL; and $ 501 to $ 1,000 will be GOLD LEVEL. Each sponsor will be promoted all during the day and recognized in a paid thank you ad in the local news media by the Piedmont Ministerial Association. Donations may be mailed to the Piedmont Ministerial Association, 23746 Alabama Highway 9, Piedmont, Alabama, 36272 or to Keith Word, Executive Director of the Piedmont Housing Authority, P. O. Box 420, Piedmont, Alabama, 36272-0420.
