Seniors, juniors and sophomores got some valuable advice from a comedic entrepreneur named Jason Dorsey on Friday at Piedmont High School.

Dorsey, who has appeared on television shows like “The View” and “60 Minutes,” is a 29-year old entrepreneur from a small town in Texas who made his way through four years of endless possibilities and a positive outlook in high school. He took those experiences on to end up writing four books and speaking to thousands of high school students, educators and business professionals across the country.

His unique Generation Y outlook of the world has proved to be a helpful tool in giving students advice for finding the right job and education path after high school and corporate business leaders advice on attracting and retaining Generation Y and younger employees.

Julie McCauley, career transition specialist of Gadsden State Community College, said Dorsey’s advice to students is valuable. “He’s so energetic, and the students just love him,” she said.

Dorsey came to Piedmont High School as a part of the Career Transitions program sponsored by Gadsden State Community College.
