The Piedmont Business Council rescheduled the Bama’s Best Burger Car Show and Yard Sale for April 19.The council decided on the date at its meeting on April 1.
The event was previously rained out of its original March 15 date by a potentially dangerous storm front that swept through Northeast Alabama and West Georgia.
Council Secretary Trudy Loy said the event will begin at 9 a.m., as planned before, and all the events and vendors will be the same.
Musical entertainment will include Midnight Run of Centre. Loy said the council is not sure if The North Georgia Blues Brothers will appear or not.
“Everything is going to be pretty much the same,” Loy said.
Residents are invited to take part in the event by selling their Spring-cleaning treasures in the event’s Flea Market along the Chief Ladiga Trail for an entry fee of $5. PBC Vice President Dan Freeman said the market is a perfect opportunity to take advantage of the number of people that will be downtown. “I hope there will be more participation with the flea market because people need to take advantage of the people that are going to be drawn downtown,” he said.
Residents are also invited to take part in the Car Corral by bringing their used vehicles for sale to be on display throughout the day near the downtown museum. A fee of $5 per vehicle will be charged and there is no limit on the numbers of vehicles an owner can bring. Car lovers will also delight in the Swap Meet, a collection of car parts and accessories vendors, in that same area.
