Senior citizens hold meeting at Clyde Pike Civic Center

The seniors of the Clyde Pike Civic Center met Wednesday for the regular monthly meeting. President Ed Spoon presided. Attendance was up. New members were recognized and welcomed were M.C. and Sharon Jones, Rita Spears and Nathaniel Phillips. Following a short business session, ham, chicken, vegetable dishes, salads, cakes, cookies and drinks were served.

Merchants donated gifts for prizes. Nellie Jo Prater, Nathaniel Phillips and Brenda Lawler won a cup, coin purse and pen from Wachovia; Geraldine Stitts, a $10 gift certificate from Lively’s Foodland; Kathleen Amberson, a $20 gas card from Young Oil; Rita Spears, an orange cranberry candle from Watson Drug and Clinton Canter, a $50 savings bond from Farmers and Merchants Bank.

The next meeting will be July 16 at Cave Springs for the annual picnic.
