Civic Center seniorsThe seniors of Clyde Pike Civic Center will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 2. The menu will include ham, deserts and vegetables. The ham will be furnished. Everyone is asked to bring baked beans, green beans, peas, macaroni and cheese, congealed salad, potato salad, potato casserole, cabbage, coleslaw, tomatoes, cucumbers or any other vegetable that will go with the ham. Everyone is asked to not bring drinks, chips or bread.
Revival services
A revival will take place at 7 p.m. Monday, July 21, through Friday, July 25, at Philadelphia Baptist Church. There will be special singing each night. Rev. James Wallace will deliver the messages.
New flagpole
The First Congregational Methodist Church, corner of Southern Avenue and Thatcher Street, will dedicate a new flag pole at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 6. Members of the Disabled American Veterans will attend. Refreshments will be served in the Fellowship Hall afterward.
Sharon Hill

Food pantry
Piedmont Church of the Nazarene’s community food pantry distributes the last Saturday of the month from 10 a.m.-noon. All donations are accepted.
Seniors trip
The Piedmont Senior Citizen group will go to Charleston, S. C. Sept. 18-21. Packages can be picked up at the Civic Center or those interested can contact Ed Spoon at 447-6258 or Aggie Harbour at 447-9804. Seniors can eat at Poogans Porch, Charleston Crab House and Hymans Seafood Restaurant. Also featured are a tour of the city, a carriage ride, a visit to the Market Place, and a visit to the Magnolia Plantation.

New Orleans trip
A senior citizen trip to New Orleans on Aug. 30 and 31 and Sept. 1 has been arranged by the Oxford Civic Center. The cost is $325 per person (double occupancy) and includes motorcoach transportation, two nights and three days at Hilton Riverside Resort Hotel and two full breakfast buffets.
