March 24

• Harassing communications — The owner of a local business reported an acquaintance had made harassing communications between 10:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.

• Theft of property — A burglary was reported to have occurred on the 400 block of North Fifth Avenue between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. March 21. Four 20-inch rims and tires valued at $3,300 were taken.

March 25

• Burglary — A resident of Gadsden reported a burglary that occurred on Bramlett Road between March 15 and March 25. Two door locks and a wooden swing were taken in the incident and a door valued at $150 was damaged.

• Harassing communications, harassment — A resident of Riddle Avenue reported incidents that occurred between 8 a.m. March 17 and noon March 24.

March 27

• Criminal mischief — A resident of Johnson Street reported $1,054 damage done to a 1977 Chevy truck that occurred between March 10 and March 27.

• Theft of property — A resident of Old Shady Grove Road reported the theft of a complete exhaust system from a 2001 Kia Sephia that occurred between 3:30 p.m. March 26 and 3 p.m. March 27. Value of the missing equipment was estimated at $852.

• Criminal mischief — A resident of Joseph Street reported $3,000 damage done to the interior of an apartment located on Anniston Avenue.

March 28

• Identity theft — A 23-year-old female reported an incident that occurred between 8 a.m. Jan. 10 and 8 a.m. March 28.

• Documentation of cruelty to animals — Officers document an incident that occurred on Hamilton Drive at 2 p.m.

• Theft of services — A city employee reported the theft of services at a location on West Ladiga Street.

March 29

• Domestic violence — A 18-year-old female reported an incident that occurred between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. March 28.

• Criminal mischief, harassment — A 43-year-old male reported an incident that occurred between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. and resulted in $250 damage done to a Toyota Tacoma.

Arrests

• March 24: Herbert Clifton Hughes, 30, was arrested on North Church Street at 2:54 p.m. and charged with Criminal Trespassing III.

• March 24: At 9:27 p.m. officers arrested Larry Randall Harris, 28, on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• March 25: Officers arrested Barry James Hayes, 30, at 5:27 p.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on charges of driving under the influence. He was released after making $500 cash bond.

• March 25: Leslie Ray Hawkins, 54, was arrested at 9:46 p.m. and charged with carrying a pistol without having a permit.

• March 25: Robert Jason Freeman, 30, was arrested at the City Barn at 11:55 p.m. and charged with criminal mischief.

• March 26: Officers arrested Stacie Leann Smith, 39, at 4:47 p.m. based on warrants for harassing communications and criminal trespass. She was held pending $800 bond.

• March 29: Officers arrested James Benjamin Goodwin, 27, at 1:08 p.m. and charged him with driving under the influence.

• March 29: Michael Blake Clark, 22, and David Arnold Smith, 21, were arrested at 4:55 a.m. on charges of disorderly conduct.
